Chapter 29 - Entering shrine of wisdom again

"Alvin, keep your head cool and listen to me. The Phynics are one of the nine royal families of Celestia. If you do something out of anger, even I won't be able to protect you without personally interfering in this matter," Magnus turned off the speaker mode and said to Alvin.

"Grandpa, this is Heavenly Wood City, a tier two forbidden land. Here, even if you are a god, you can only display the strength of a peak level Master Realm cultivator. And as for your help, I don't need it. This matter, I will deal with it myself," Alvin's voice came from the other end of the phone.

"Brat, first you have to understand that right now, you are just a normal person with no cultivation. Even if you come here to take revenge, you will only be sending yourself to death," Magnus shot back with slight irritation.

"Don't worry, I'm not a fool. I won't touch them recklessly," Alvin replied after a moment of silence.

Magnus nodded his head with a relieved expression on his face. "I will be hanging up the phone then."

"Take good care of her," Alvin replied before cutting the call.

Magnus put his phone back into his storage ring and looked at Alicia, who was staring at him innocently. "You seem more trusting towards your uncle. What did your mom really tell you about him?" he asked curiously.

Alicia thought for some time and said, "Mom told Alicia that Little Uncle is the strongest person in this world, and if someone bullies Alicia, I can tell everything to Little Uncle when I see him. Little Uncle will beat all the bad guys and protect Mother and Alicia from them."

"Screech..." Lilly also nodded her head, as though she was agreeing with Alicia.

Magnus's mouth twitched, "That little brat surely has some awesome reputation here."

"Grandpa, can we also bring Aunt Mary with us? She was Mom's old friend and she looked after Alicia ever since Mom left for work," Alicia suddenly asked.

Magnus looked towards the middle-aged elder and said, "Bring Mary here."

The elder nodded, and after some time, the maid who had brought Alicia to the room before was summoned in front of Magnus. She was an elegant woman with a hint of noble air around her, even in her maid outfit.

"Mary, right?" Magnus asked.

Mary nodded her head with a slight bow.

"How do you know Alice?" Magnus asked.

"I was one of the refugees from the tribal village called the Southern Blue Water Village. Miss Alice was the one who gave me a job back when I first came to the city," Mary replied respectfully.

Magnus frowned. "The same village as Alvin?"

Mary nodded. "My mother was the caretaker of the orphanage the Young Master used to live in. She died of some unknown disease once we relocated to the city. Ever since, I usually visited Young Master whenever I had time. It was also me who told Miss Alice about Young Master's background back then."

"So you know what really happened that night?" Magnus asked in a stern tone.

Mary looked into Magnus's eyes and nodded. "I know what actually happened there, but I don't know who was really behind that incident."

Magnus's frown deepened. "We will talk about it later."

He then turned to the elder of Phynic Land and said indifferently, "Inform your emperor that Alicia is now my granddaughter, and the soul contract binding her bloodline must be completely removed within a week's time. If it is not done, then we Nyxborns will make him do it the rough way. So tell him to obey my order if he doesn't want to be humiliated in front of others over this issue."

"Secondly..." Magnus pointed at the old man who claimed Alicia broke his bowl and said coldly, "This idiot dared to touch my granddaughter, so there is no need for him to have that hand anymore. Break his limbs and hang him in front of the mansion without food or treatment for a week. Let him feel the pain this little girl went through."

The old man's face changed when he heard this. "You can't do this! I was only following the rules of our royal family!"

Magnus tilted his head indifferently. "This is the rule of our Nyxborn family. If one of our juniors is bullied by someone at the same level, we usually don't interfere. But if any old idiot like you tries to bully one of our juniors, we will surely return the favor tenfold."

"This is not Nyxvelia. Here, only the rules of Phynic..." the old man began saying, but the middle-aged elder interrupted him with a wave of his hand.

"Guards, execute the punishment given by Senior. Right now."

Magnus didn't say anything else. Suddenly, several gray lights fell from the sky and everyone disappeared, leaving only the members of the mansion behind.

"Elder, you can't do this! I am a sixth realm cultivator of the Phynic Land royal court. Even you don't have the right to punish me!" the old man kept shouting from the grasp of the guards who were restraining him.

The elder looked at him indifferently and walked inside the mansion without looking back.

....

Inside Alvin's room,

Alvin stood up from his bed and washed his sleepy face with clean water from the bathroom. He then took a bath and freshened up before sitting cross-legged on his bed.

He closed his eyes and willed to enter the Shrine of Wisdom.

Suddenly, his vision blacked out and in the next second, he appeared in the large hall of the Wisdom Shrine.

In the Life Tree at the center, it was now filled with several milky white flowers with one petal and two petals. Each of their sizes also varied from 1 cm to 10 cm.

"So this length of 1 cm to 10 cm corresponds to the sub-level the beast was in?" Alvin asked the big tree at the center.

[Yes, the number of petals indicates the realm, and the size indicates the sub-level the soul was in.]

The thought from the tree appeared in Alvin's mind.

Alvin nodded. "Tell me how many soul essence I currently have, of the Ascension Realm."

[634 Ascension Realm soul essence.]
