Lucas was shocked. He had wings too?
"But that aside, I will say one thing, and whether you believe it is up to you. I never accepted your feelings with ulterior motives. I never compelled you to do anything you didn't want to either. Every moment we spent together was genuine. I didn't mean to deceive you but I couldn't exactly tell you the truth either." He covered a part of his face. "Just what would you think of me if I did? After all, I am the monster in your fairy tale books and I didn't... Want to lose you."
Lucas gulped, slowly taking his steps towards Devon. With trembling hands, he reached out to Devon and then slowly, he shoved his fingers into his hair.
"D-Devon," he called softly.
"Yes, Lucas?"
Lucas gulped once more. He honestly didn't know what he was doing but he felt this strong connection with Devon in this form more than he ever did.
It was all starting to make sense.
