Chapter 31 - Chapter 30-The Unseen Truth

The room felt like an interrogation chamber. Jimin's apartment—usually a place of warmth and calm—was now thick with silence and pressure.

Jimin, seated across from them like a quiet judge, let his eyes sweep the circle. No emotion. Just steel.

Then his voice came—soft but sharp as glass.

"Now start... without any lying."

Every heart skipped a beat. They all gulped.

Jungkook's throat was dry, but he spoke first. He looked straight at Jimin, the guilt clear in his eyes. "Jimin... when you decided to work with Ms. Hae, I tried to stop you. You remember that?"

Jimin gave a small nod acknowledging the truth, but his face was unreadable.

"You didn't listen and.....," Jungkook continued, his voice low. "We argued—more than once."

He paused, his hands clenched on his knees. "One day I was just... exhausted. I couldn't stop thinking about it. So after work, I went to the club. I needed to breathe."

His eyes flicked to Taehyung briefly before returning to Jimin.

"I didn't expect to see Taehyung there. We hadn't seen each other in a while"Jungkook said.

"We reminisced about our childhood, university days, and caught up on life.....In the flow of conversation, I mentioned the project."

Jimin's eyes narrowed slightly, processing the information.

"Taehyung listened intently,..." Jungkook added. " But when I mentioned Ms. Hae's name, something clicked for him."

Taehyung's ears perked up at his name. The others exchanged curious glances.

Taehyung leaned forward, his voice steady. "That night, when Jungkook spoke about Ms. Hae, her name sounded familiar . But I couldn't place it immediately."

Taehyung cleared his throat.

Taehyung looked at Jimin directly, his expression serious—more serious than he'd been in weeks.

"But when I got home… my hyung was in the living room. He was on a call, talking to someone. I was halfway up the stairs when I heard her name again—Ms. Hae."

"And then it clicked," Taehyung said. "Three days before that, Yoongi hyung and Yuna were at the café with me. They were talking about something serious—and I heard her name then too, i decided to ask about her later and go to my room ".

Jimin's brow furrowed slightly.

Flashback:

Taehyung pov,

"But next morning, I couldn't shake the unease in my chest. Because Everyone was talking about Ms. Hae—Jungkook, Yoongi, Yuna, even my hyung.;

Then I called Jungkook and we plan to meet at his house in evening."

That Evening: At Jungkook's Apartment we talk about ms hae again ,i told him my eardrop about her .i suggest him to go and report her, but Jungkook looked tense.

I asked him,"What happened??",

Jungkook hesitated but he answered," We can't go to the cops. If we do, not only Jimin but our whole company will be in danger."

I understand his fear but it's important for him, so after lots of thinking i suggest"What if we can't go to the cops and can only get help from my hyung's legal team? They're the best in situations like this"

Jungkook immediately answer " Jimin can't be ready to work with them. They're not government officials."

I thought for a moment, then proposed an idea."What if we just play a little role?"

Jungkook"How?"

"What if.... Anyone .... mean i become a that government officer , and hyung's team is my personal team?"

Jungkook listened "but . .,"

I intrupted "After the mission, we can talk to Jimin and told him everything."

Jungkook processed the plan, he think Later jimin will understand the situation, now ms.hae is more dangerous to handle.

Then Jungkook nodded in agreement.

"Okay, let's make a plan."

"Let's do it."

Another pov:

Same day: at Taehyung rooms ,

He stared at his phone continuously, thumb hovering over Hoseok's name.he try to call many times but in fear ....he stopped every time,

After a deep breath, he tapped 'Call.'

It rang twice before Hoseok's voice came through—sharp and impatient.

"What do you want, Tae? I'm busy right now."

Taehyung blinked, a little stung. He knew it was true—he only ever called when he needed something. Or showed up uninvited when things felt too quiet.

"Hyung, it's not like that. How can you say that to me?" he whined, his voice full of drama and hurt.

Hoseok sighed deeply, clearly unfazed by the theatrics.

"Alright then, I'll cut the call."

Panic flashed through Taehyung's chest.

"No, no! Hyung—listen. Have you heard about... Ms. Hae?"

The line went quiet. Taehyung frowned, pulling his phone away to check if the call had dropped.

Still connected.

Then came Hoseok's voice—cold and cautious.

"Why do you want to know about that dangerous woman, Taehyung? What have you done?"

Taehyung laughed awkwardly.

"It's not about me, hyung. I swear. Just... please talk to me."

Hoseok was quiet for a beat longer, then said curtly,

"We'll talk later. I'm seriously busy right now. Come to my place in the evening. Yoongi and yuna will be there too."

"Okay," Taehyung agreed softly, already feeling the weight in his stomach.

End of flashback

Present:Hoseok ;

"Yes, Taehyung, come to us that evening and tell us about Ms. Hae and your involvement ."

He paused, ensuring Taehyung understood the gravity of the situation.

"At first, we weren't sure if we should share the information about ms.hae with him . We're only doing this solely for Mr. Namjoon's legal team. We're bound by rules and regulations."

He sighed, recalling the internal debate.

"But somehow, he managed to convince Yuna to help jungkook, and she convinced us."

Taehyung nodded, acknowledging the effort.

The living room fell into a heavy silence after the revelation. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Jimin broke the silence. "And after that, you asked me to meet you at your place..." He recalled the day Jungkook had messaged him, asking to meet at his apartment. When Jimin arrived, Jungkook revealed Ms. Hae's illegal activities and mentioned he had a plan.

Jungkook looked at Jimin and nodded. "Yes, that day I received information about her illegal activities through Taehyung."

Jimin laughed, his voice cold. "And that day, you fooled me. I truly believed you." He glanced at Taehyung and the others. All heads lowered in embarrassment.

Jungkook panicked and denied it. "Jimin, it's not like that.... We didn't have enough time that moment...even If we went to the cops, Ms. Hae would have found out about our plan, and we might have been in even more danger."again pinpoint silent.

Jimin looked at Jungkook. He understood the situation but couldn't shake the feeling that Jungkook had lied to him. That hurt more than anything.

After a long silence, Jimin finally spoke. "Okay, I understand you all..."

Everyone was shocked. They exchanged glances, unsure if they'd heard correctly. Yuna and Hoseok were the first to speak, almost in unison. "Really?"

Jimin laughed and nodded. "Yes... but..."

The room fell silent again. Jimin couldn't help but find their panicked expressions amusing.

"Okay, okay, relax," he said, trying to ease the tension. "I forgive all of you... but not Jungkook."

Jungkook looked confused. "Why not me?"

Jimin stared at him coldly. Jungkook pouted, looking like a kicked puppy.

Everyone watched the scene and couldn't help but laugh, which only made Jungkook more upset.

After the laughter died down, everyone apologized to Jimin, and the tension in the room finally eased.

Taehyung suddenly spoke up. "Hey, let's go out for lunch. I know it's past lunchtime, but I'm hungry..." Everyone laughed at his dramatic tone.

Everyone agreed. Jimin said, "Okay... give me some time. I need to change." He looked at Jungkook, who also needed to change.

Jungkook understood. He turned and headed toward Jimin's room.

As Jimin entered his room, the door clicked softly behind him. Before he could process the moment, a firm hand grasped his wrist, pulling him back. He stumbled slightly, his back meeting the cool wall with a soft thud.

His breath hitched as he looked up—Jungkook's face mere inches from his. The proximity made his heart race, and for a moment, the world outside seemed to fade away. They stood there, suspended in time, the only sounds the soft rustle of clothing and their synchronized breathing.

Jungkook's thumb brushed gently over Jimin's jawline, lifting his chin to meet his gaze. The intensity in Jungkook's eyes spoke volumes—regret, longing, and something deeper that Jimin couldn't quite place.

"I'm sorry," Jungkook whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I never wanted to hurt you."

Jimin opened his mouth to respond, but the words caught in his throat. The weight of the moment pressed down on him, and all he could do was look back into Jungkook's eyes.

Jungkook continued, his voice barely audible, "That day... I... I didn't know how to..."

Before he could finish, Jimin closed the distance between them, pressing his lips against Jungkook's. The kiss was tentative at first, a question, a plea for understanding. Jungkook hesitated, then deepened it, his hands finding their way to Jimin's waist, pulling him closer.

The kiss spoke of unspoken apologies, of emotions too complex for words. It was slow, deliberate, each movement conveying what they couldn't say aloud.

When they finally pulled away, their foreheads rested together, breaths mingling. Neither spoke, but in the silence, everything was understood , jimin already forgive him.

As Jimin and jungkook stepped out of his room, he found the group waiting for him. Taehyung, ever the tease, grinned mischievously. "Well, well, lovebirds , what took you long ...," he said, his voice dripping with playful sarcasm.

Jimin's cheeks flushed a deep crimson, and he lowered his head, avoiding eye contact. His usual confident demeanor was replaced by a shy, almost bashful aura.

Jungkook, sensing Jimin's discomfort, placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Alright, alright, enough teasing," he said, his tone warm and protective. "Let's go."

They made their way to a nearby restaurant, where the evening unfolded with laughter, shared stories, and lighthearted teasing. Time seemed to fly as they enjoyed each other's company, the earlier tension forgotten in the warmth of their camaraderie.

§∆§

After dinner, the group parted ways, leaving Jimin and Jungkook standing outside the restaurant. The cool night air wrapped around them like a gentle caress, but the world seemed to fall silent in the space between them, For a moment, neither spoke, as if the weight of the night had settled on them both, and the quiet was enough to say everything they needed.

Jungkook's voice finally broke the silence, soft yet filled with vulnerability. "Jimin... do you forgive me?"

Jimin's heart fluttered in his chest. He met Jungkook's eyes, and something deep inside him stirred. He nodded, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'll forgive you, but if you ever break my heart again... I swear, I'll kick your ass."

The words were playful, but there was an underlying truth that only Jungkook could understand. A small laugh escaped Jungkook, the sound so light, it made Jimin's heart soften. And when Jimin smiled back—genuinely, without the weight of anger or hurt hanging between them—Jungkook felt the tension in his chest ease. But as their eyes locked, a quiet shift passed between them, a shift that made everything feel too close, too real.

Jungkook's expression softened, his love for Jimin unmistakable in the depth of his gaze. Without a word, he reached out and cupped Jimin's face in his hands, his touch tender, as if Jimin was something precious—something fragile. His thumbs traced along Jimin's cheekbones, gently, reverently.

"I promise," Jungkook's voice was barely a murmur, his words carrying more weight than any promise he'd ever made. "I'll never lie to you. Not about anything. Not again."

Jimin's breath caught, his chest tight with a feeling he couldn't quite place. He wasn't prepared for this moment—this soft, sincere confession that felt like it was coming from the very core of Jungkook's heart. His heart raced, and he couldn't look away from those eyes, the ones that were full of both love and regret. The words echoed in his mind, and yet they were so much more than words—they were a silent vow, a pledge wrapped in warmth and certainty.

Jungkook leaned in, his lips brushing gently against Jimin's forehead, a soft, lingering kiss that seemed to say everything they hadn't yet spoken aloud. It wasn't just a kiss—it was a promise, a reassurance, a declaration. And in that moment, Jimin felt something stir within him, something he hadn't expected.

Jimin's heart ached with an overwhelming emotion, and it took him by surprise. The kiss had unlocked something inside him, and now, all at once, he realized the truth. Love. The word hit him like a rush of wind, a tidal wave crashing against his chest, and for a moment, he couldn't breathe. Was he in love? Was this it? Was this what love felt like?

But before he could say anything, Jungkook pulled back slightly, his gaze searching Jimin's face with quiet concern. "Are you okay?" His voice was soft, gentle, filled with an almost unspoken worry.

Jimin blinked, pulling himself back to reality, but his heart was still racing, still trying to catch up to the emotions tumbling inside him. He shook his head lightly, trying to hide the storm inside. "Hnn... yeah, I'm fine," he said, forcing a smile, but it was shaky, like his words didn't quite match what he was feeling. "I think... we should go. It's getting late."

Jungkook studied him closely, his eyes never leaving Jimin's face, as if he could see right through the walls Jimin had built. "Okay," Jungkook said softly, his voice a mere whisper now. "I'll drop you off."

Jimin felt a rush of panic. He wasn't ready for that—not yet. "No... no, it's fine," he said quickly, his voice almost too fast, too desperate. "You know my apartment is close by."

Jungkook heard the tension in his voice, saw the subtle shift in his posture, and though he wanted to insist, he understood. There was something in Jimin's eyes—a hesitation.

He nodded

And so, They said their goodbyes .
