"Haa… haa… haa."
My breath was ragged, my heart was pounding at an unnatural rate and I could feel a strange pain in my chest—one I had never felt before in my 2 lives.
I got many types of injuries in my past life, but none of them could be compared to this.
'That's… not right .'
Clinching my chest, I looked at my surroundings, there were too many people crying around me in the graveyard, their expressions mirrored sadness, anger and hatred.
"She was… too… young."
"It should have been me!"
Behind me, Aria was on her knees, her tears falling on the dirt like a waterfall .
'This wasn't supposed to happen.'
I was speaking with Mom and Grandma this morning. They couldn't just die in that short time—not like this.
I started feeling a strange heat inside my head, but I ignored it. I just kept staring, trying to process what was happening.
My tears started falling. I didn't want to admit it, but… the truth was against me. They really died.
I clenched my fist.
'I hate this.'
*Drip…drip….drip*
After getting a good family—a family that cared about me, a family that really loved me… I lost them just like this.
'I hate th—!'
Suddenly, I found Aria hugging me, her voice trembling as she whispered,
"Everything will be alright… I promise."
She started glowing a little, then I felt her warm purple light wrapping around… my hands ?
I looked at them. My eyes widened slightly in realization.
'Oh, my nails penetrated my palms unconsciously.'
Maybe due to my current emotions, I didn't notice the pain.
I hugged Aria back. Remembering that I wasn't completely alone.
I still had her. She was with me on this.
I gaze landed on the names' tomb for a moment, especially the organisation's name.
I read the name, feeling the heat in my head increasing.
'The Dark Order.'
I knew who they were.
They were the real traitors of Eldoria, They betrayed all the races and decided to stand with the demons .
I didn't know their reasons. I didn't know their motivations. I didn't know if they were really guilty.
But for the first time—I didn't care.
In my eyes, they were guilty enough.
All of them! No exceptions!
I gritted my teeth and decided.
'No matter what '
The heat in my head started condensing at the centre .
'Even if I couldn't stop the demons. Even if my mana never awakened. Even if I couldn't change the end!'
A small sphere started forming inside my brain.
'I will hunt down every single one of them! Even if it's the last thing I do in my life!'
My bracelet began to shine.
*Ding!*
[Congratulations for forming your aura core!, please check your inbox to see the awakening technique.]
They had taken two of the most precious people in my life.
And what they left behind was perfect… HATRED!

It was a beautiful day, I could feel the warmth of the sun on my skin and hear the gentle singing of the birds in the trees. On a day like this, I would have been in my house, maybe eating my favourite strawberry ice cream while watching the news .
But instead, I was in the graveyard, drinking tea with an unlucky soldier, hearing the people cry and scream .
My gaze landed on 2 kids that were crying while hugging each other , they both had black hair and purple eyes, and the younger one looked too furious.
"Haah, If that didn't break him, he could become a cultivator " I said with pity .
"Yeah, but the trauma isn't the best way to form your core, especially for... kids ." the soldier said, I could sense guilt and sadness in his voice .
I whispered, "So, what happened exactly? I prefer hearing it from the witness face to face. "
The soldier bowed his head and said,
"The son of one of the patients in the hospital awakened a rare Illusion affinity. He was just visiting his father before The Black Order attacked . We suspect that he was their real target, but we don't know how they found out about him."
I looked at him curiously "how did you know it's The Black Order? who did they send ?"
The soldier gritted his teeth. "They sent Cecil! That lunatic elf never cared about hiding himself! "
He hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I rushed there the moment we got the call for help, but when I reached there all I found was ashes and a big pool of... blood ."
My face twisted into disgust.
'Yeah, it's always that pool, definitely Cecil'
I opened my mouth, but before I say anything, I felt it—an almost unnoticeable aura a little far.
My gaze landed at the black haired kid, but unlike before, he had an aura core now.
The problem was the trace of bloodlust leaking from him.
The dormant aura core can't use the aura. But some types of aura pressures were exceptions.
And the bloodlust was one of them.
'Haah, for a child to have visible bloodlust once he formed his core, I will find that bastard Cecil someday! '
"Hey soldier, How is that kid related to the incident?" I asked curiously.
"Oh, give me a second" he opened his bracelet and started searching for something. After a minute he answered.
"Raylin Crimson, his father had died in the fight against the void demon 11 years ago, his mother was crippled, but thanks to her Life affinity, she was able to work in the hospital as healer with her mother as an assistant, but they both died in the incident leaving him and his sister Aria Crimson alone now."
Once my curiosity was settled, I decided to leave.
"Well, I will continue the investigation from here, you can rest after sending all the victims' families to a therapist. " I stood up and started walking away
"Also, you don't have to feel guilty about anything. It's the guilds' and the government's fault for not finding that organization. You did your best."
"Y-Yes captain!! Thank you ! "
I took a cigarette out of my pocket and lit it before taking a deep breath.
'It's been 4 years since Cecil appeared, let's hope to find something about him this time.
