KODA'S POV
The head medic's hands moved over my ribs with practiced efficiency, checking for any lingering signs of the internal bleeding or organ damage. Her touch was gentle but thorough, and I tried to focus on her instructions about avoiding shifting during the next full moon.
"Your meridian needs time to settle," she explained, pressing lightly against my side. "The forced transformation puts tremendous stress on your body, and right now you need to heal.Not justphysically which is going well right now."
I nodded, though part of me wasn't really listening. Something felt off. There was an energy in the air, a tension that made my skin crawl. I shifted on the narrow bed, trying to shake the feeling.
That's when I heard it. A commotion from somewhere else in the palace. Voices raised in alarm, footsteps running on stone floors. The sound was distant but urgent.
"What's that noise?" I asked, sitting up straighter.
