Saruyama seems pretty eager with Jouno's message. He's been really excited about this whole event that happened just a few hours earlier.
He'd love to share it to everyone on the group chat, but no one responded to his message at all.
Feeling a bit down after the silent treatment, he slowly forgot the whole thing until Jouno pings him just now.
[Jouno Tsukami: So… what's with the bodyguard thing man?]
Jackpot! Saruyama screams internally.
[Saruyama Kenichi: Ah, that one… To be honest, the whole thing isn't that exciting to hear though. But if you insist, I'll gladly tell you…]
With that, Saruyama slowly remembers back about that moment, when he returns to his home under the dusk sky…
He was a bit frown from the absence of activities in the chat group, ever since yesterday after the guy's statement.
He thought that this "group chat" could be his cheat, making him stronger than everyone and gathering a harem all over the universe. But in the end, even though he has gained various information about his world, or to be exact his "work", he still feels a bit down due to lack of activity from everyone.
He even thought that everyone had left him out of the group and was talking in another chat. The mere thought of this made him frantically check all the chat functions again, as he found absolutely nothing out of the ordinary since.
Yeah, all is normal besides the mission… Seriously, what with this crazy difficulty, he frowned.
I should probably buy some new "sacred" books, he thought with a slight hint of boredom.
But while walking alone, he suddenly got a glimpse of two people ahead, which based on their gestures he could guess that's a couple.
When he got closer to them, he immediately realized the identity of both parties and spoke up, getting their attention.
"Yo! How's the lovely couple doin'?"
"Saru?!"
"Saruyama!"
The teenager gasps in surprise, probably due to my unexpected call, while the girl just widens her eyes without any more expression.
Yep, that's his boy Rito and the guy's fiance Lala. How bold of them to express their love in the middle of the road.
He seems to be annoyed by Lala, based on his sweat and unbalanced stance, while Lala seems to enjoy herself with Rito a lot, since her smile didn't fade one bit while holding Rito to her boobs.
Dang, despite knowing her background already, he can't help but to admire her heavenly body and out-of-the-earth face that would make a riot in the school.
Normally, he would curse him to hell for having such beauty like to be his fiance. But after knowing his story and his future troubles, that childish jealousy of him quickly disappeared, replaced by his boundless pity…

Rito scratched his head with a complicated expression, but Lala had already answered me with an excited manner.
"We're buying groceries for dinner ~ And he also show me around here ~"
"I see, nice to hear that."
Dinner huh? Come to think of it, Rito did hold a full nylon bag, he thought while taking a look at Rito's hand.
"So what are you gonna do, Saruyama ~ ?"
"Me? Well, I'll probably buy some extra "contents" to "study" tonight ~"
He made a mischievous voice answer her while slightly squinting my eyes, making me seem a bit suspicious.
"Contents? What kind of—"
"AHHHH!!!! We've gotta go now, see ya later!!"
Lala naively asked more about his response, but Rito had already grabbed her hand and frantically running away left him behind in the dust.
"Knew it ~"
Let out a joyful grin, he started walking again all alone. After some more minutes he arrived at his favourite location, where he frequently visits more than school, an old shop.
"Saru my man, here for some new stuff?"
A young man, wearing a wig and a black lips, wearing a sleeveless black shirt greeted him with a genuine casual manner.
The guy's Roy, a US citizen who has settled here for at least five years already. Reasons, unknown, as he didn't talk much about his past.
Welp, not that he cared that much about someone else's personal life.
"Got anything new?"
"A lot. Just import some good stuff that you might like."
Roy tossed some book and disk case to him, to which he carefully inspected. From the look of it, he would dare to say that this is indeed some good deal.
"How much?"
"The usual."
"Done."
After a short conversation, he packed all of them in my bag and left the store, going straight home.
Tonight's gonna be wild ~
"You are…"
Hm? This voice… behind me?
He slowly turned to the voice direction, and my whole body froze. Standing there is a light girl wearing a Sainan student dress, with long black hair and beautiful golden eyes now looking straight at me, or to be precise his bag, with a despised look.
Crap… for real?! At this time?! God must've loved to torture this mortal, he mumbing with a fearful voice…
"… What are you holding?"
The girl, known as Kotegawa Yui, asked me with a threatening tone. And as a response, he immediately started sprinting.
"Wh–?! Stop right there!!"
With a second lagged behind, Yui immediately followed suit right behind him.
He won't risk being caught by Yui again, especially after all the things she has taken from him in class!
The chases take them through the shopping street, sneaking through the crowd and parkour through many obstacles that he purposely goes for.
But no matter what he tries, Yui still follows right behind him. And to his horror, Yui even slowly closes the distances between them.
Oh come on!! Why was she this stubborn?! He frantically thought while running.
Both of them then ran toward the riverside, where he accidentally tripped and rolled down to the river. And immediately right after, Yui came to his side and confiscated all his good stuff.
"My stuff…"
"I'll take them away—"
"YOU!!!"
Just as Yui started to lecture the guy with an icy look, a voice suddenly rumbling throughout the place attracted our attention.
And on the other side, the sight of my bro Rito frantically dodging someone, who's wearing a skull-theme armor with a shining blade, just like a lightsaber, swinging at him falls into both (probably?) into our eyes.
Beside them is the figure of a certain alien princess, who still hasn't moved in to stop them yet.
"What the…?"
"The heck…?"
Yui and he both fazed by the seemingly unreal sight right in front of us for some moment, and that's when the sight of Rito with that skull guy slowly creeped into the street…
