"Shit!"
With an almost quite swearing, he immediately stood up and ran right behind the duo, not even bat an eye on Lala, now that seem to be aware of their existence.
He follows Rito closely right behind, eyes checking on countless cuts on the building they, or rather the skull armor guy, left behind. Even the truck has been cut to pieces, in literal meaning, and the driver seems to have gone mad with everything that happened.
Curse it, at this rate they'll make themself known to the authorities and will bring more problems to everyone else, he frowned at such thought.
But worse, at this rate, Rito might be… on display in some butcher stand at the supermarket, he is shuddering with his own mental image.
After running for some time, the sound of clashing slowly creeped into his ear, with the figure slowly showing up in his field of vision.
"Dangerous?"
A soothing voice then falls into his ear, as he slowly arrives at the scene. The skull-armored man now floating on the air, quickly descends down while his bud, Rito, now freaking out against the fences, screaming something to the armored guy.
As the man finally touched the ground, he could finally see what his bud was trying to say, or rather warn…
"Hmph! Don't get too full of yourself. No mere ru—"
The skull-armored man speaks toward Rito with a confident attitude, but he is already moving before "it" arrives on the man.
"WATCH OUT!!"
He yells out to the guy, notifying his arrival to both parties. And before the guy could react to him, he had already tackled the guy which surprised both Rito and the man.
"Sneak at—"
The guy seemed to scream something while being pushed back, but the passing train behind us already covered what he said to his ear.
After the train passed, all three of us kept quiet for some moment. He then quickly falls back behind, looking closely at the skull man now expresses a confused look.
Dang it, why did I even bother to save him, he even tried to kill Rito, he questioned his earlier action.
Why did he even bother to act at all, while his friend is more vulnerable than the guy is?!
"Why did you save me? Who are you?"
After some time, the man interrogated me with a doubtful look, his shadow now shrouded over my body which made it a lot more sinister than it should be.
" … The name Saruyama, and I'm Rito's best bud…."
Swallowing the worry, he leered back at the man with a confident look, or at least tried to, and slowly stated about himself.
… If it had come to this, he should've at least gone out not as a whimper, but as Rito's best buddy!
""Rito" best friend…? So, you're not—"
"I knew you're trying to kill him."
"Then… why?"
The man's gaze became more intense, which made him start sweating like crazy, but he just can't bear to leave him like usual.
"I… just can't let you get injured. You're trying to kill Rito, I already stated that, but to see you get hit by that train and die is another story…"
"Train?"
The man frowned in confusion, mumbling about what he just told, startled him quite a bit. This guy… don't know about those common things?
Wait… what if…?
" … You're bluffing."
"If I did then why would I even bother to save you just now?"
"That's…"
The skull-armored guy confused again and stiffed his face, and that's my cue to act.
"RUN RITO!!!"
With a yell, he draws out my phone and flashes into his eyes, which is totally locked in him for the whole time, and proven to be effective as he immediately covers his eyes and falls back.
Rito followed his cue, started running again while he stayed behind to stall him as much as he could.
Dang it, he should be laying in my room, watching the new additions right now… not staying outside against the weird looking man that just makes quick work with some truck, he thought.
"You…!!!"
The man growled with an intense tone, swung his blade directly at him and blew it all the way back.
Ugh!! It's so painful!!
Silently growling in my mind, he landed on the ground with a rather appropriate posture. Luckily, the pain is all he feels from his swing, as there's no blood or guts spilling from where his blade landed.
… Phew, seems like he's still in one piece, somehow. Which probably won't stay up for long.
"Tch, that guy ran away…?"
After some confused moments, the skull-armored man finally got his senses back and looked at where Rito once was, then quickly glared at me with a murderous look.
Ah crap, he silently gave up…
"Well then, tell me…"
The skull guy then appeared right in front of him, and without him giving no time to express his surprise, grabbed his wrist with a threatened look.
"If you are truly that "Rito" best friend, you should know about his home?"
Snap, this guy… trying to hunt Rito even at his house, he dreadfully thought.
"You either tell me where his house is, or this time it won't be just pain."
He closed his sword right at his throat, just a millimeter away from touching it.
Gulp, he slowly swallows his saliva without making any sudden movement, thinking of his actions for this guy…
"… Do it."
After some deep thinking, he let out a sigh and leer back at the guy with a determined look, now having accepted his fate.
He could be the worst man the girls ever met, but he's no snitch, especially in this life-or-death matter.
"Very well…"
With a slightly glinted gazed, the guy once again lifted his blade and swung it down, ending his pathetic life right there…
"Zastin!! Stop!!!"
… Or not.
The skull-armored man immediately stops his blade, which has already touched my neck, and looks back at the new arrival.
"Lala-sama…"
"You ACTUALLY gonna kill that innocent man, one that just SAVED you?!"
"…"
Lala screamed at him with an angry voice, and the skull guy actually retracted his sword right after. This is… could it be, he thought.
"Sorry for that, Saruyama-san."
Lala then quickly approached and pulled me up, bowing before me with a regretful voice. The skull man slightly twitches at Lala action, his gaze into me becoming more intensified than before.
He silently let out a relieved sigh, thankful for Lala intervention.
"Lala-sama… why are you bowing to such Earthlings?"
"Why not? I'm just trying to fix your mistake Zastin."
"My mistake…?"
The skull guy, now having a proper name, frowned in confusion with Lala's statement to which she explained right away.
"You're trying to kill an innocent man, Zastin."
"But he isn't…"
"Not to mention, you have shaken up everything around here, destroying property as you pleased."
Dang, that cruel, he thought while leering back at Lala confronting Zastin.
"Just to think what would happen if I told my dad about this… That the strongest swordsman of Deviluke, the one that was honored by Gid Lucione Deviluke himself, has threatened to kill innocent life…"
"Pl–Please don't Lala-sama…"
Zastin's face immediately fell down with Lala's imagination, and now opted to beg her not to report this whole mess to her father.
"But ~ If you keep me company here and not dragged me back to Deviluke, I might reconsider that ~"
"Ugh…"
Lala now tries to "negotiate" with Zastin with a cheerful attitude, but in our view her words are no less than the devil's deal.
Dang… what has Rito involved himself into…
Best of luck buddy, he silently prayed to him in my heart…
"Can someone explain to me what just happened?!"
A screeched voice quickly snatched our attention, toward a long hair girl with golden eyes, now looking at everyone with a frustrated look…
