Chapter 14 - mount xuelan (part 3)

"Shizun is back?" Mei Lin asked without opening her eyes but feeling her presence.

"Hmm, I'm back," Jing Shao said while making some tea.

"Where were you?" Jing Shao was a little surprised when he heard Mei Lin's question. He actually thought that this disciple of his couldn't care less about his life. "I went to the town to get some money." "Do you need money?" Although Mei Lin still hadn't opened her eyes, she was listening attentively. "Is this an interrogation?" Jing Shao said, a little nervous. He truly felt interrogated.

Mei Lin opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something but didn't. She felt a little embarrassed. Who was she to ask about her teacher's life? Before she could continue criticizing herself, she heard Jing Shao say, "I need some money. I want to go on a trip with you guys." Mei Lin was about to say something but Mei An's eyes widened. "Shizun wants to take us on a trip?!" Jing Shao didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "We can't go on this trip yet. I still don't have enough money." Mei An wasn't planning on letting him go. "Ah, where is Shizun taking us?" Jing Shao gave a soft sigh.

"It's a cave at the peak of Xuelan Mountain near the Tianmeng Realm. It's quite far." Mei Lin's eyes darkened. She knew that this was the realm where her parents had met. She wanted to say, "I'm not going," but the words couldn't come out of her mouth. There was simply no way she wouldn't want to go. All she could do was pretend she didn't hear anything and continue meditating. All these changes in attitude remained in Jing Shao's eyes. He said casually as he lightly touched the sleeve of her clothes. "Have you been to that realm?" "No, but my mom says that my dad and her fell in love there." Mei Lin frowned. She just hated not being able to hang her brother and skin him alive. Mei An continued. "My mom was very young when she fell in love with my dad. He was the main disciple of the cult leader and he always sneaked out to see my mom." Mei Lin couldn't take it anymore and said, "Mei An, shut your mouth."

But Jing Shao wasn't planning on letting her go and asked, "Oh? And do you see your father a lot? What was his name?" "Oh, my father has been away from home for a while, his name is..." "Mei An...." Mei Lin said through gritted teeth. She was so angry that she could easily spit blood. Talking about her father was a sore spot for her. Jing Shao seemed to understand. "It's okay, you don't have to say it if you don't want to." Only then did Mei Lin's anger subside a little. The dinner that Jing Shao had prepared was already served on the small table. The children ate and said goodbye quickly. It was already night and they had to go back.

Jing Shao went back to his bed he couldn't help but think about what Mei An said and Mei Lin's reaction it was the first time she showed something so openly her eyes reflected a trace of sadness that was hard not to notice he couldn't help but think about Mei Lin's attitude she was always cold and distant many questions arose in his head he was worried that he had made her seriously angry but he decided not to think about it anymore at the same time Mei Lin was tossing and turning in bed thinking that maybe she was too rude to Jing Shao he saw the bracelet on her small hand caressed it briefly put her wrist on her chest and curled up into a small ball he didn't want to think about it anymore he felt it was ridiculous why would anyone think about what a little girl would feel? he didn't want to waste other people's time listening to her he honestly felt that she herself was a waste of time

The next day Jing Shao went to the village early in the morning. The day was colder than the day before. He wasn't very well dressed and put up a protective barrier against the cold. This person wasn't very good at handling the cold. He kept the barrier up all day but still sneezed non-stop. When he returned home, the children were outside waiting for him. "Shizun, where were you? We were worried... Did you catch a cold? Your nose is red?" Mei An said innocently. Before he could touch her forehead, Mei Lin had already done so. "Hmm, it's burning hot." She took Jing Shao's hand to take him and his brother inside. Jing Shao was very scared by this action. He wanted to pull back Mei Lin's hand, but this small hand held his hand tightly. They were warm. When they entered the house, she started making tea herself and looked for slices of bread for him to eat. Jing Shao was moved. Mei An helped him take the hand off. outer gown and help him sit up in bed

"When was the last time someone waited for him at home?" Jing Shao thought, a little painfully, he felt so sad, he thought, "Why didn't I ever get married and have children?"
