Chapter 22 - After swimming for a while, Heisenberg noticed Barbara dealing with the two women he’d spent the night with.

After swimming for a while, Heisenberg noticed Barbara dealing with the two women he'd spent the night with.

But now, these two women lacked the allure they'd had the night before.

After all, who'd have any energy left after a night of fighting a Kryptonian?

And Barbara had brought her goons straight into the villa to kick them out!

The women, rudely awakened, were furious, demanding Heisenberg come say goodbye.

But Barbara wasn't having it. She and her female goons dragged the women out, bedsheets and all…

After a while, the rooftop fell silent again.

Barbara frowned, wrapping a towel around herself and heading to the poolside.

"Do you really have the heart to make me throw out your trash every day?"

"What would you rather do? Be the trash?"

Heisenberg laughed, then floated out of the pool.

Unconcerned if Barbara was watching, he dried off with the towel, wrapped it around his waist, and headed toward the lounge chair.

"I never imagined you'd become so lazy. Back at S.H.I.E.L.D., you acted like you were invincible. I thought you'd be eager to do something to the world!"

Watching Heisenberg stroll lazily ahead, Barbara couldn't help but sigh.

Hearing her words, Heisenberg replied without turning back,

"What did you think I'd do? Blow up the Earth? You know, sunbathing is the most serious business!"

As he spoke, Heisenberg flopped back into the sunlight, soaking up the rays.

"Don't you care about your nightclub? Billy's asking about the next theme."

"Of course I care. Here!"

Heisenberg's figure flashed as he grabbed a camera from the locker and tossed it to Barbara.

"There's an embarrassing photo of Tony Stark inside. Print it as a poster. Next theme: Iron Age!"

"Hmph, poor Iron Man. He looks like he's about to cry!"

"Haha, right, Barbara. From another angle, he looks constipated!"

"Tony's going to hate you forever!"

"Am I scared?"

As Heisenberg basked in the sun, Tony had also climbed out of bed.

As always, he instinctively tried to shake off his bedmate's hand.

Because he was a playboy, and once he'd slept with a woman, he'd never love her again…

"Hmm?"

"Pepper?"

"Oh my God!"

"What the fk did I do?!"

What was I thinking just now?

Never love again?

No, no, no…

So true!

Tony froze…

Because lying beside him now was… the woman he loved most, his Pepper.

And at that moment, Pepper woke from her sleep.

They got dressed, washed up, and somehow, they didn't discuss what had happened the night before. Instead, they naturally went about their morning routines, as if they'd been together for a long time.

Little did they know, last night had been their first time.

But this time, as Pepper finished clearing the dishes and slipped into her work outfit, she hesitated.

"Tony… your chest…"

Once upon a time, she hadn't really been intimate with Tony.

But last night, after seeing everything she needed to see, she was shocked by the reactor in Tony's chest!

To be precise, she'd seen the reactor many times before, and a glowing circle wasn't enough to scare her.

But now, around the reactor, there were black marks resembling spiderwebs. What were they?

Hearing Pepper's words, Tony's hand trembled slightly as he sipped his coffee.

"A little problem, but it's easily fixed."

"Is it? I really want to believe you, but you're not good at lying to me, Tony!"

"Hmph, no one would dare deceive you, my angel on Earth. Trust me!"

"Then tell me… okay…"

Pepper didn't press further, because she knew Tony Stark too well.

The more she pushed, the less he'd open up. It was better to ask JARVIS when Tony wasn't around.

So Pepper smoothly changed the subject.

"That man last night?

The one who could fly and was even stronger than your armor—is he one of your superhero buddies?"

Pepper chose a good angle to ask Tony.

At the mention of Heisenberg, Tony's expression turned serious.

He fell silent for a moment, then shook his head.

"Buddy? Far from it. He might even become an enemy!"

"Hmm?"

Pepper was puzzled.

"You didn't seem like enemies last night."

"Just last night. He… has no mercy in his eyes. We'll never be on the same side!"

Saying this, Tony snapped his fingers, and JARVIS turned on the TV.

The news channel was excitedly broadcasting anything related to Heisenberg:

Heisenberg killing Whiplash, and Heisenberg pressing Iron Man back into the car.

Tony didn't care about the embarrassing incident of being subdued by Heisenberg.

He pulled up the footage of Heisenberg killing Whiplash and played it on repeat.

"If it were me, I'd incapacitate him, then send him to prison, letting him face the consequences under the law.

But Heisenberg…"

Tony shook his head again, heavily.

"He doesn't care at all!"

With that, Tony sank back into the sofa, his head resting against the cushion.

Whether it was thoughts of Heisenberg or last night's hangover, his head was pounding.

Pepper bit her lip, gently moving forward to massage Tony's forehead.

With his loved one's warmth, Tony rallied his spirits and continued.

"Superman, we've all read those comics. But no matter how much we love the hero in the comics, no one wants a real invincible god among men.

And Heisenberg isn't Superman at all. He has none of Superman's compassion or kindness toward humans.

He's, at best, an unjust Superman!

But I have to admit, for Earth, an unjust Superman is far more terrifying than Superman himself!"
