"System, sign in."

[Ding, sign-in successful. Congratulations, Host, you have received: Sitrus Berry x10, Points +100!]

My luck wasn't always great, apparently. Sitrus Berries are a material for making Pokéblocks. For Jiang Chen, this stuff was abundant.

After feeding his Pokémon and eating breakfast, Jiang Chen picked up his map and some outdoor tools, then prepared to set off.

"Young Master, should I follow you?"

Ning Ya asked Jiang Chen.

"No need."

"Then please be careful, Young Master."

"Don't worry, Alakazam is with me."

Jiang Chen patted Alakazam, picked up his Poké Ball, and had Alakazam use Teleport.

Teleport was a very useful move. With one Teleport, he instantly appeared in the wild from home.

"Ralts~!"

Ralts looked at Alakazam enviously.

"Don't worry, your future achievements will definitely not be worse than Alakazam's."

Jiang Chen caressed Ralts's small head to comfort it. In fact, this shiny Ralts indeed had more potential than Alakazam.

"Come out."

He released Squirtle, Beldum, and Dragonite.

"Sure enough, the most numerous Pokémon in the wild are Caterpie, Weedle, and Oddish."

"Oh, and Rattata."

Wild Pokémon generally wouldn't attack humans indiscriminately. Some Pokémon even feared humans, though there were also ferocious Pokémon that would attack humans.

Defeating wild Pokémon could also earn points, but he wouldn't deliberately grind for points.

Because if wild Pokémon were injured and didn't receive treatment, they would likely die.

While he considered himself not a great benevolent person, he was also not a great evil one.

This could be considered his bottom line. Points were indeed important, but if he became deranged for the sake of obtaining points, he might end up not even recognizing himself.

However, for Pokémon that actively attacked, Jiang Chen would not be polite.

For example, that provoking Rattata was controlled by Ralts's Confusion and knocked unconscious.

"Indeed, it's hard to find suitable Pokémon in the wild."

They were all common Pokémon. Pidgey, Spearow, and Hoothoot, the "door-route" birds, were rarely encountered.

The most common encounters were Bug-type Pokémon.

He spent the entire morning in the forest, but didn't catch a single Pokémon. He did, however, experience many battles. Many actively attacking Pokémon were dealt with by Ralts, Beldum, and Squirtle.

For those they couldn't handle, Dragonite would take care of it. As for Pokémon that Dragonite couldn't handle, none had appeared yet.

This forest was a small one near Tianhai City, not particularly large. It was normal not to encounter rare Pokémon here.

However, not only were there no rare Pokémon here, but even the Pokémon's talents were underwhelming. Jiang Chen hadn't encountered a single Pokémon with even Elite Trainer potential.

"Let's rest first and eat something."

Jiang Chen took out food from his backpack.

"Oh, I didn't expect to find a Shuckle here."

Not far away, he saw a Pokémon resembling a small turtle. Its body was a red hollow hard shell that could store berries, with many holes, and its head and limbs could retract into it.

Shuckle's base stats exceeded 500, which was already quite high. Pseudo-legendaries' base stats were around 600.

However, Jiang Chen didn't plan to catch it. Shuckle was too extreme; its two defensive stats were incredibly high, both at 230.

All its base stats were poured into defense, which was too extreme. Its speed was a pitiful single digit, and both its offensive stats were very low. In battle, it would just be a punching bag.

The crucial point was high defense and low HP. Despite its high defenses, it wasn't even qualified as a tank. Unless it couldn't be breached, if it was breached, it would be out immediately.

In games, it could be used with moves like Power Trick to swap attack and defense, but in reality, Shuckle was truly not suitable for battle.

"Don't Shuckle usually live on mountains? How did it end up in the forest?"

He kindly fed Shuckle a few Pokéblocks. After it had eaten its fill, Jiang Chen began to have his Pokémon train.

"Ralts, you need to do physical training too."

Pokémon moves generally had no usage limit; a move could be used continuously, but it would consume stamina, just like Devil Fruit users in One Piece.

Some moves also consumed mental energy.

For example, some Psychic-type moves.

Shiny Ralts had maxed out its mental power and was very powerful when using Confusion, but its stamina, while not bad, was just average.

Hearing Jiang Chen say to do physical training, Ralts didn't refuse and obediently agreed.

But only during the actual training did it realize how hard physical training was.

Looking at the pitiful Ralts, Jiang Chen felt a pang of heartache, but he ultimately hardened his heart.

"Go, Ralts! When we go back, I'll prepare your favorite cream cake for you."

Pokémon could, of course, eat human food, though some Pokémon were accustomed to it and some weren't.

And Ralts really loved cream cake. Not just cream cake, it liked any dessert.

Hearing Jiang Chen cheer it on, coupled with the temptation of the cream cake, Ralts persevered.

Actually, Jiang Chen didn't need Ralts's physical training to be too strong. Training Ralts into a melee mage was unrealistic, and it wasn't Ralts's forte either.

The physical training was to strengthen its stamina so it wouldn't get exhausted from continuously using moves in battle later.

Beldum was also continuously smashing into rocks or trees. Its "Iron Head" was being honed to perfection.

Beldum, before evolving, had very few attack methods. Before the final evolution of a pseudo-legendary, there weren't many effective moves. Beldum would be better after evolving into Metang.

In the afternoon, most of the time was spent training.

Squirtle also lived up to its training; its strength improved again, becoming Normal Level 3.

"Na~!!"

A scream came from afar, and then he saw a large blue rat scurrying over, followed by a group of Beedrill.

"Is that a Nidoran♀?"

Jiang Chen stood up, looking at the blue rat.

Then he looked at the group of Beedrill. How did this Nidoran♀ provoke the forest bullies?
