Wow! Wow! Wow!
The cry of a baby should normally signify new life and happiness, but at this moment, to Chu Xun's ears, it sounded more like the roar of death, the furious growl of a demon.
Especially when the cries grew louder, and the sound of something breaking the air was as sharp as a needle in his back. Chu Xun's heart raced faster, wishing he could move even three times faster to escape these bloodthirsty little demons.
Unfortunately, human potential can't keep exploding over and over, and at this moment, Chu Xun had already reached his limit. Meanwhile, the baby corpses continued to close in, and it seemed like he wouldn't even make it to his destination before being caught.
"Damn it, I have to block them for a bit!" The plan had already gone awry. Realizing that simply running would only increase the danger, Chu Xun gritted his teeth and suddenly stopped. His right hand grabbed a steel hospital bed that was lying at the side of the road. With a forceful lift, he hurled it toward the baby corpses.
Crash! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The hospital corridor wasn't very wide, but with all of Chu Xun's strength, the two-meter-long steel bed almost blocked the entire passage. Though the baby corpses reacted quickly, making swift dodging moves, a few were hit head-on by the bed and sent flying like soccer balls.
After all, while the baby corpses were strong, their body weight wasn't significant, so once hit in mid-air, their light bodies were easily sent flying.
"Bingo, home run!" Seeing several baby corpses get sent flying, Chu Xun's eyes lit up. After being chased by these little things for so long, he could finally vent some of his frustration.
However, even though he had gained a bit of an advantage, Chu Xun didn't dare to stop. He kept running forward at full speed. Every time he came across a large object like a hospital bed, he would pick it up and throw it behind him to slow down the baby corpses' pursuit.
However, this tactic only worked at first. The baby corpses, being a special type of zombie with intelligence far surpassing that of ordinary mutated zombies, quickly adapted. As soon as they saw Chu Xun grab something large, they would dodge in advance, and sometimes they would even counterattack and destroy these objects.
Soon, the baby corpses' speed increased again, and the distance between them and Chu Xun narrowed!
"Here!" At this point, Chu Xun's goal was already within reach. Seeing a large black room not far ahead, his eyes brightened, and he suddenly accelerated, rushing toward the room with the alien creature in tow.
Wow! Wow! Wow!
Seeing Chu Xun frantically rushing into a closed room without a plan, the baby corpses shrieked excitedly. They immediately followed him into the room, as if driving a dog into a dead-end alley.
Creak—Boom!
Just as the baby corpses entered the room, the metal gates of the room suddenly slammed shut after a loud screeching noise. The baby corpses quickly realized something was wrong and tried to retreat at full speed, but in the end, they were all trapped behind the thick iron gates.
Not far ahead of them was a large transparent glass wall. Beyond the glass, Chu Xun stared coldly at the baby corpses, a cruel and cold smile creeping across his face.
This room, was where he had prepared their final resting place!
After the catastrophe, the virus infiltrated everyone's body, so everyone who died turned into a zombie. The stronger a person was in life, the stronger the zombie they became after death. There had even been cases where a five-star ability user turned into a five-star corpse king after dying, destroying an entire city.
After enduring numerous bloodbaths caused by the resurrection of the deceased, people began to uniformly handle the bodies of the dead, burning them before they could transform.
That's right, they could only be burned. Some ability users could transform into special zombies, and even destroying their brains wouldn't truly kill them.
Only by using intense flames to burn every inch of their body, destroying every virus, could they be truly safe.
Because of this, crematoriums became a necessary institution in every gathering place. The room Chu Xun was in right now was a crematorium.
"Heh heh, weren't you all chasing me just now?" Through the high-temperature-resistant glass, Chu Xun looked at the baby corpses, who were howling and frantically banging against the glass like panicked dogs. A cruel and cold smile appeared on his lips.
Anyone who had been chased to the ends of the earth by these terrifying little things wouldn't feel the slightest bit of sympathy for them.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The baby corpses seemed to realize their impending death and began to ram the glass with all their might, trying to destroy it and tear Chu Xun apart. But the glass was specifically designed to resist mutated zombies, with extremely strong defenses. No matter how hard the baby corpses rammed it, the glass remained unscathed.
"Baybay!" With a cold smile, Chu Xun pressed a red button on the control panel next to him. Immediately, fire-spouting tubes emerged from the walls on both sides of the room.
Boom!
With a deafening roar, blinding white flames engulfed the entire room and consumed the baby corpses. Under the intense heat, the baby corpses quickly caught fire. Their pale skin turned black as they were scorched by the flames, and their muscles shriveled from the heat.
Finally, when the flames subsided, all that remained was a pile of black ash on the ground. The baby corpses had completely turned to dust.
"Finally done…" Chu Xun breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at the pile of ashes.
Fortunately, his memory was good, and he remembered that there was a crematorium along this route. Otherwise, he would've really been done for by those terrifying little things.
But even though the baby corpses were dealt with, Chu Xun didn't dare to relax completely. After all, no one could guarantee that there weren't other dangers lurking in this hospital.
At least that terrifying presence that had been affecting his mood hadn't shown itself yet!
Once the heat from the room subsided, Chu Xun used the control panel to lower the glass wall and open the iron gate, leaving the crematorium.
Then, following the map in his mind, he carefully moved down the hallway.
"Pharmacy storage, this is it!" Soon, Chu Xun arrived at a room. Looking at the large "Pharmacy Storage" sign on the door, his eyes lit up. He reached for the door handle, eager to see if the items inside were what he needed.
Click!
Unfortunately, the door to the pharmacy storage seemed to be locked, and despite his efforts, Chu Xun couldn't open it.
"A password lock?" Chu Xun frowned slightly as he looked at the password lock next to the door. Taking a deep breath, he extended his claws and struck the alloy door with full force.
Screech!
With a loud metallic screech, sparks flew from the friction between his claws and the door, and a shallow scratch appeared on the door.
"Damn, how tough is this?" Looking at the shallow scratch on the door, Chu Xun frowned even more.
It seemed that trying to tear the door open by brute force was out of the question, but he wasn't like Yang Ling, and he couldn't crack the password lock.
However, every problem has a solution. Although Chu Xun couldn't open the password lock, he quickly thought of a way to get the door open.
"Sorry, little buddy!" Looking at the obedient alien beside him, Chu Xun gently patted its head and then commanded, "Help me open this door!"
"Hiss!" The alien creature had no doubts about Chu Xun's orders. As soon as Chu Xun finished speaking, the alien moved to the door, raised its long tail, and positioned it in front of itself.
*Smack!*
In the next moment, the alien opened its mouth and without hesitation, ejected its inner teeth. The sharp inner teeth, like daggers, instantly pierced through its long tail. Transparent blood began to pour from the wound, dripping to the floor.
Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle!
The alien's blood was highly corrosive, and as soon as it hit the ground, it began to eat away at the floor, creating deep pits in the surface. At the same time, the alien's long tail whipped around, and a massive amount of blood sprayed onto the pharmacy storage's metal gate.
Sizzle!
The iron gate was undoubtedly much harder than the floor, but it still couldn't withstand the corrosive power of the alien's acid blood. Soon, with a sizzling sound, the door was corroded through, leaving a small hole big enough for one person to pass through.
As the door was corroded, cold mist began to seep out from the hole. The bone-chilling temperature made Chu Xun shiver uncontrollably.
But even though it was freezing cold, a smile of excitement appeared on Chu Xun's face.
Pharmacy storage rooms in most gathering places have independent power supplies, so even if the entire city's power runs out, the pharmacy storage can still maintain its refrigeration system to keep the medicine effective.
After all, on the battlefield, whether a medicine works or not is directly related to a soldier's life!
And now, the fact that the pharmacy storage was still freezing cold meant that the independent power supply had not run out in these past ten years. So, logically speaking, the medicines in this storage should still be effective.
With that thought, Chu Xun's
