Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Chapter 7

This got me concluding on the fact that Jude was the one behind that door from which I heard moans last night.

I quickly withdrew my hand from his and focused on my food. Jude only snickered and then continued with his meal too.

While I sat, I noticed some stealth signals, hand signs and eye communications, I could only wonder what next amazement I would be witnessing this time.

Sounds of forceful protests and pleading crys could be heard. I looked up from my meal and saw a maid being forcefully dragged towards the table, so many thoughts swirled in my head.

What's going on?, what had she done wrong? What were they going to do to her?

Before my very own eyes, the maid was strongly held by two butlers, her head held above a big bowl and with a swift movement, her throat was slit.

Oh my gawd... I held my hand over my mouth which had dropped oped due to shock of the horrific scene before me. What just happened? Tears stung my eyes as I stared around at the people.

For some reason, they were all calm like it was a normal thing, I looked over at Jude and he only smiled at me. I guess it really was a normal thing for them.

My goodness...

I stared agape as the lifeless body was dragged along the ground by a butler while the other butter began to scoup the red liquid into champagne glasses and passed it round.

WHAT. THE. HELL....

I looked at Jude with literally red eyes, my eyes had gone sore from holding back my tears and all he could say was-

"Are you okay?"

Really? Am I okay?

I stared into his mouth as he spoke and I saw something I had never seen before.

FANGS

That's it! They weren't normal people. I could tell it the moment I arrived, everything was just weird and unusual. I knew something wasn't right.

A glass of the red content was placed in front of me and immediately, I became nauseous, wanting to throw up.

"Cheers to a new member, you're welcome princess Moriah. Cheers to you" The King said as he locked eyes with mine and I also saw fangs at the sides of his mouth as he spoke.

After everyone downed the red liquid, I excused myself and left the table. Hurrying up the stairs and I didn't stop till I got to my room. I pushed the door open and ran inside as the tears dropped from my eyes.

I went into the bathroom and turned on the faucet. As the water rushed out, I rinsed my face with the cold water continuously because my tears won't stop falling out.

I blamed myself, I blamed my father the most. He always wanted me to get married to the Eddingtons, he never told me that they were all blood sucking vampires.

What have I gotten myself into? I sobbed sorrowfully.

"You don't look too well, Moriah" I heard the familiar voice and gradually looked behind me. I was amazed when I saw no one behind or around me.

Then I returned my gaze to my front and my heart skipped a beat as I stared at him in the mirror.

"Luwin?" I called with a voice that had been cracked with sobs.

"Why are you sad?" He asked from the mirror but all I could think of was how he appeared in the mirror.

I raised my hands up and touched the hard surface of the mirror and it was very much solid.

"How did you..."

"Why are you sad, Moriah?" He cut in.

"It's nothing... "

"Is it nothing? I don't like it when you're sad"

His sentence got my attention and I stared at him, what did he mean by not liking it when I'm sad? I found it a bit amusing and I released a little laugh but I was still sad.

"You talk like you know me too well "

"Of course I do. I told you that you should not be here, did I not?"

I stared away, feeling like I was being scolded. He did tell me that I should not be here but that was when I was already here. I can not return back to my father's house now.

"I have no other option"

"Do you love Mr Eddington?" I heard him ask and stared at him in thoughts.

"I ... I don't"

"Then why do you want to get married to him?

"I have no choice"

"You do have a choice. You should have said No to the proposal"

"No was not an option"

"No is always an option, Moriah. You are only scared of the consequences of saying No"

"I couldn't disappoint my father "

"What about yourself? At the end of the day, you are the one getting married, not your father"

"How do you expect me to say no to my own father?"

"You have to express yourself someway?"

"And ... Why do you even care? Aren't you guilty of trying to spoil my marriage? Why don't you just... Go. I can't really help you You know..."

"I am not going anywhere, Moriah. I have waited years for you, you cannot imagine..."

"My princess? Are you in there?" Jude's voice sounded from outside the bathroom door. He knocked and opened the door.

I instinctively moved to hide Luwin who was still in the mirror but I wasn't quick enough neither was I even big enough to hide him.

"Are you okay my love? You suddenly left the table "

Jude didn't say anything about Luwin. I turned back at the mirror and Luwin smiled at me, I then turned back at Jude. Then it hit me, he could not see Luwin.

I released a small low chuckle as I slightly exhaled in relief.

"I'm okay, I was only shocked. I never knew that...".

"That I was a vampire..."

I nodded my head in affirmative, my eyes went up and stared into his blue eyes.

"I am sorry my love, I should have told you earlier. I hope the scene with the maid didn't scare you?"

"It did"

"Forgive me my love. It is only done when celebrating a big win and at the moment, that was done because of you. You see how special you are to us" he stepped closer and cupped my face in his hands.

"It is part of our tradition. You will get to know more and you will see that we are good, we all have your interest in heart. Trust me" he leaned in and placed a reassuring kiss on my forehead.

"I'll be downstairs, please join us when you're done okay?"

"Okay " I watched as he smiled, revealing his sharp fangs. Seeing those fangs made me shiver in fear. I managed a smile before he exited the bathroom.

"Lies" I heard Luwin's voice and turned around to stare at him in the mirror.

"Do you believe all that he said?"

"I... I ..." I stuttered.

"Don't believe it. It is all lies"

"Well, how would you know?"

"I know, trust me. You'll see"

An exhale left my lungs as I held my face in frustration.

"I don't know what to do"

"I know what you should do"

"What?" I stared up at him with renewed hope.

"Help me break my curse" he smiled a little.

"Really? Are you being selfish now?" I chuckled a little.

"And how am I even supposed to do that?"

"You have the powers in you"

"I don't know about that. I will have to ask my parents and I can't do that until two days to the wedding when they will come here"

"It will be too late"

"Too late for what? Don't even bother. I know I'm a normal human. If I wasn't, mother would have said something"

"Do you want to bet?"

"What?"

"You will ask your parents when they come. If they say that you are a human, then I will go away and never return"

"And if I am not a human?"

"You will have to stop the wedding "

"What?"
