Chapter 8
"Do you want to bet?"
"What?"
"You will ask your parents when they come. If they say that you are a human, then I will go away and never return"
"And if I am not a human?"
"You will have to stop the wedding "
"What?"
"Deal or no deal?"
Was Luwin serious about this? And if truly I wasn't a human as he said, how am I supposed to stop the marriage?
"I don't know about this, I don't think I want the bet"
"Why? You are scared of the instance that you might not be a human? "
"I am not scared, I am a human but now I'm having doubts. And it won't be possible to stop the wedding when it's just two days left"
"Then do it now "
"What?"
"Do it now. Stop it"
"But ... you seem too bothered by this. Why are you so bothered? Why do you not want me to get married?.... Is there something you're not telling me?"
"I ... Well ... " He stuttered and then I was sure that he was hiding something.
"You will find out later, now you just have to stop this marriage and help me. Let me allow you to get back to your umm.... Celebration. I will return back later and tell you some information about myself and the help I need"
"Oh .. okay..."
"Enjoy your breakfast, my princess " he said to me but I sensed a tone of mockery... He was mimicking Jude!
I quickly turned around and glared at him and he chuckled a little before vanishing. I let out a smile too as I left the bathroom feeling a bit refreshed and better than earlier.
But the thought of going back to that eery dining room kind of freaked me out though. Those bloody people ... Ish!....
"You're here, have a seat" Jude said, pointing towards the seat beside him and I quietly sat.
A meal was served in front of me and I forced myself to eat. Truthfully it was delicious.
Breakfast was over and everyone dispersed. I looked around and found Jude walking towards outside with a young man, should be his brother I guess, judging from the same colour of hair which they had.
How awkward that non of Jude's siblings came to say Hi to me. They didn't even bother if a new member had come to join the family or not.
They definitely saw me as a nobody because I was not like them.
I returned back to my room and lay on my bed, my head muddled up with thoughts when I heard a single knock on my door followed by a disrespectful opening of the door
I quickly sat up to see who it was and I saw a girl, young and awkwardly beautiful.
"Excuse me?" I said to the girl who stood with judgemental eyes. "Is there anything you need?"
"So you're Moriah?... " She walked into my room with her whole being dripping with pride and arrogance.
"And you are?" I asked and she shot me deadly glares.
"I'm Luisa"
"So you want to marry my brother?"
"Do you not want me to?"
"What do I care? Just stay out of my lane. And as you know, I drink human blood, and so does everyone in here including Jude. So you better be careful " she sized me with her eyes before exiting my room
She just came to warn me? Seriously... I exhaled in tiredness. I was literally tired of everything. I still had nine whole days to the marriage and yet I was already tired of this new family.
Time went by slowly, I waited till dusk for Jude to perhaps stop by and say hi but he never came and I did not feel comfortable moving out into the halls or taking a walk around the castle when I knew that the people whom I lived with were all blood sucking freaks and predators to people of my kind.
I stayed in all day till night and after dinner was served, I freshened up and got ready for bed. Though I had not slept yet because I was waiting for Luwin, he said he would return back so I had to wait but unfortunately, my body failed me as I slept off soundly.

It was very dark, mid night. Luwin went into Moriah's room but found her asleep already.
Gently, he sat on her bed and stared at her as she slept. He raised a hand and brushed away her hair to stare at her pretty face.
She was so beautiful and the fact that she no longer got frightened by his appearance made him feel somewhat at ease.
"Moriah" he murmured her name while admiring the girl as she slept peacefully, she was so pretty and charming that the more he stared the more he found himself getting more drawn to her
"Why.... Why did you send me a saviour as pretty as this? Even after I went against your law?"
"I think I love her already. Moriah, I can't wait to meet you in person "

It was morning, I yawned myself awake and sat up on my bed, my eyes looking around my empty room.
Somehow I felt like someone was here last night, who was it? Perhaps Luwin came by when I was asleep?
I quickly got up from my bed and headed to my table looking for any sign that he actually came. I searched for anything that was out of place to be sure if I had missed him last night and I found a sign.
The books on my reading table were stacked properly. I remember leaving them scattered and now they were arranged. I smiled, knowing that he actually kept his promise.
"So he came? Wow"

Today, I decided to have dinner in my room and after dinner I waited for Jude but he never showed up. I then decided to leave my room and take a walk, perhaps I might find him.
I walked down the hallway, going to places I had not been to, seeing things I had not seen.
While walking, I passed by the kitchen and my eyes locked with a familiar one. It was the butler from that night who stopped me from opening that door.
I wonder who really was behind that door.
My eyes lingered a bit in the kitchen before I left completely because the butlers and maids stopped what they were doing and were all staring at me.
Not just them, as I walked through the halls, anyone I passed by would stare at me for a prolonged period of time. It got me worried so I just returned back to my room.
On my way, I walked by the door which I heard moans from the other night and thankfully no one was around so I quietly pushed the door a little and stared into the room.
It was a very beautiful and spacious room with a large bed and beautiful decorations.
"Wow"
I heard footsteps and quickly closed the door and headed to my room.
Later that night, Luwin came again, the only highlight of my day.
"You were here last night?" I asked as he sat on the sofa.
"Yes, you were asleep already"
"You should have woken me up, I was waiting for you "
"Oh... I thought you would be very tired so I just let you "
"Oh... Okay. So about what you wanted to say "
"There is a place you must go to in order for you to help me"
"Where?"
"You will go to Duskan district. Ask for the veteran, you will be directed to a deserted place, no one goes there at all".
"What is there?"
"My physical body. Only the veteran is there, they might not let you in but when you explain yourself, they will let you"
"Oh my..." I was marveled
"I am currently unconscious and for you to break the curse you have to go there when you have unlocked your powers already "
"How do I get there?"
"Do you want to go there now? I can take you "
"Yes, let's go now"
"Alright "
Just like magic, I found myself in an unknown place, a deserted town. No one was in sight, oh there was a person at a very far distance.
"Where is this?"
"Duskan district, a place for cursed bodies while the souls spend miserable years in the world of the unknown, suffering"
"Follow me"
I followed him as he walked towards a dark street, going further into the street till we came to a gate which was guarded by four hefty guards.
We walked past them into the premises and into he huge building. I saw a man sitting at a table and reading a book
"That's the veteran" Luwin explained and I nodded.
We still walked further into the building, passing by different rooms with unconscious people till we got to a closed door.
"Behind this door" he said to me, not taking another step further.
"Let's go"
"You go, I'll wait here" I noticed he was sad so I didn't protest, I just walked in through the door and I found his body unconscious in an open coffin.
At first I was scared but I moved closer to the coffin and saw him properly, his skin appeared very much fresh and supple, like he would just wake up anytime soon.
"Oh my goodness...." He looked just like the man from my dream, so perfect...
