Chapter 10: The Fight With Buggy
«-------------------------------------------»
The air inside the large circus tent was thick with excitement. Laughter and chatter from the crowd swirled around the makeshift ring where Buggy the Clown stood, arms wide and grinning with wild energy. The colorful lights from lanterns hanging overhead cast flickering shadows on the faces of the gathered spectators.
Luffy bounced on the balls of his feet, his trademark straw hat tilted slightly back, eyes gleaming with the thrill of a new challenge. Beside him, Zoro's calm gaze scanned Buggy with cautious calculation, hand resting near the hilt of one of his swords.
Buggy's laughter echoed loudly. "You want to be Pirate King, huh? Big dreams for a kid who's barely wet behind the ears!"
Luffy puffed out his chest confidently. "I'm gonna be the Pirate King! So don't get in my way!"
Buggy spun a knife between his fingers with practiced ease. "You're talking big, Straw Hat. Let's see if you can fight as well as you talk!"
Before Luffy could answer, Buggy snapped his fingers, and the crowd parted as several of his crew stepped forward, wielding various weapons. Their uniforms were mismatched, colorful, and almost as ridiculous as their captain.
Zoro drew his swords silently, stepping protectively in front of Luffy.
"Leave this to me," he muttered under his breath.
The first pirate charged, swinging a club. Zoro met the attack with a precise parry, sending the attacker stumbling back. Another lunged with a dagger, but Zoro's blade flashed, catching the blade mid-air and snapping it in two.
Luffy grinned and charged forward, rubbery limbs stretching as he launched a powerful punch aimed at Buggy's face.
Buggy's expression twisted in surprise—and then amusement—as his body suddenly split into pieces like a puzzle. His head, torso, and limbs separated and floated independently, each part moving with a strange, jerky motion.
"What the—?!" Luffy staggered back.
Buggy's voice echoed from several directions. "I'm the Chop-Chop Man! The Bara Bara no Mi lets me split my body apart and control it however I want!"
Zoro's eyes widened slightly in recognition. "A Devil Fruit user."
Buggy laughed, his head flying up to avoid Luffy's next attack, while his hands clapped mockingly.
Luffy's eyes narrowed with determination. "I won't lose! I'm gonna get stronger!"
He leaped forward, trying to grab one of Buggy's floating limbs, but the pieces danced just out of reach. Buggy's limbs slammed together suddenly, forming a huge fist that crashed toward Luffy.
Luffy rolled under the blow, bouncing up with a cheeky grin.
The fight raged on, the crowd roaring in excitement as Luffy and Buggy exchanged attacks.
Zoro continued to handle the pirates, moving swiftly and efficiently, cutting down any who tried to interfere.
At one point, a pirate sneaked behind Zoro, but a sharp slash took him down before he could react.
Buggy shouted commands wildly, trying to regain control of the chaotic fight.
Luffy stretched his arms again, preparing for a powerful Gum-Gum attack.
"Gum-Gum… Pistol!"
His fist shot forward, colliding with one of Buggy's flying hands, sending it spinning across the tent.
Buggy grinned wider, clearly impressed. "Not bad, kid. You've got spirit."
As the fight continued, Luffy's excitement grew with each dodge and punch, while Buggy's laughter never ceased.
Zoro glanced at Luffy, shaking his head but with a faint smile.
"You're reckless."
"Yeah, but fun," Luffy replied.

Arlen's fingers flew across the keyboard, the words flowing steadily.
[System: Chapter 10 Complete. Words: 3200]
He leaned back, reading over the lively battle scene.
The clash between Luffy and Buggy brought energy and color to the story—just the kind of slow-building excitement he wanted.
He saved the chapter and glanced at the reader comments streaming in.

The pacing here is perfect. I feel like I'm really watching the battle unfold.
Arlen smiled faintly.
He poured a fresh cup of tea, now lukewarm but comforting.
The cursor blinked on a new blank page.
"On to the next part," he whispered.
