The warehouse was a battleground of blinking lights and electric tension. Carter's fingers flew over the keyboard, fighting to keep the digital fortress alive. Each firewall held only for seconds before Black Echo's relentless cyberattacks tore at their defenses.
Eve crouched by the cracked windows, eyes sharp as a hawk. "They're trying to breach through every entry point. We won't last long if they break inside."
Julian loaded his rifle, every nerve taut. "Then we don't let them in."
Reese checked his ammo and nodded, voice steady but grim. "Once they're inside, it's all-out war."
Suddenly, the steel doors shuddered under heavy impact. The first wave of operatives slammed through, silent but lethal.
Julian took a deep breath. "Positions. Eyes open."
Gunfire erupted, bullets tearing through the air. Eve tossed her smoke grenade, the thick haze swallowing the intruders' vision. Reese moved with lethal precision, taking down two attackers before slipping into the shadows.
Carter kept his eyes glued to the screen, sweat beading on his forehead. "I'm holding the firewall, but it's cracking. If they get control of this server, Nexus isn't just a weapon—it becomes their weapon."
Suddenly, the power flickered. The backup generators kicked in with a low hum, but the damage was done.
A cold voice crackled through the comms. "You can't win, Julian."
Lucian.
Julian's grip tightened. "This ends tonight."
Eve shouted, "Incoming from the east corridor!"
Julian sprinted, gun blazing, cutting a path through the advancing enemy. Reese flanked left, trapping the operatives between them.
The warehouse became a chaotic symphony of shouts, gunfire, and the harsh glow of computer screens.
Carter finally smiled grimly. "Firewall's down. But I've encrypted the core. They'll have to break through me first."
Suddenly, a figure burst through the smoke—Lucian, face shadowed but unmistakable.
Julian froze, heart pounding. The brother he thought was dead had returned to end this war once and for all.
