Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 A king Who Just Wants to Chill

He lived in Beixin'an Village, just outside Beijing's Fifth Ring Road and not far from the Sixth. The place was simple one bedroom, one bathroom, and a small kitchen tucked into the corner.

Rent was six thousand yuan a month, was it worth that much 'No' but life's like that. Some people are born with a diamond spoon in their mouth. Others, like orphans, don't even get a spoon! At least he had a metal one.

After washing up, he hung his damp clothes outside to dry. Then he got to work in the kitchen, cooking himself a big pot of noodles and steaming two eggs on the side.

Thanks to Sukuna's physique, his appetite had grown he could eat way more than before. That's why he made so much, just for himself.

After washing the dishes, he headed downstairs and caught a taxi to the Audi 4S dealership.

When he arrived, the salesperson greeted him warmly and poured him a cup of tea.

There was no sign of the usual looked down towards someone who didn't look rich.

Chen Pingsheng already had a model in mind: the Audi A7 Sportback 3.0 TFSI quattro. After tax, it would come out to around 930,000 yuan.

After a smooth test drive, he nodded with satisfaction and turned to the salesman.

"Do you have any in stock?"

"Of course, sir," the salesman replied respectfully. "But we only have two colors available right now."

"Alright, let's take a look," Chen Pingsheng said casually.

The two available colors were Havanna Black Metallic and Dakota Gray Metallic. In the end, he went with the Dakota Gray, fully loaded with high-end features.

Chen Pingsheng paid in full and, at just 23 years old, became the official owner of an Audi A7. As for the license plate, the dealership handled it.

Getting a plate in Beijing without connections? Normally impossible. But this was a temporary workaround just enough to get things rolling.

Not that it mattered in the long run. When Special Grade Cursed Spirits begin to gather, let's see how this world handles it. Nuclear weapons might work against humans, even sorcerers but not against curses. You can't exorcise a curse with firepower.

Curses must be exorcised with other curses. In other words, only cursed energy can harm them.

And unlike Jujutsu Kaisen's world, this one doesn't have Tengen's barrier protecting anything. So whichever country builds up the most negative energy… that's where the first cursed spirits will appear and eventually, the first Special Grade.

As for the birth of sorcerers? Forget it. Who's going to teach them Jujutsu? Definitely not me, too much trouble.

I'll just deal with the occasional Second Grade, First Grade, and Special Grade when they pop up. That alone will take care of most of the mess! The rest of the world? Good luck.

He drove the Audi back to his rental flat and parked it in the lot nearby. Since his place didn't come with a private space, he paid the security guard six hundred yuan for a month's parking.

It didn't matter he only planned to stay here for another month anyway. After that, he'd buy a villa.

There were plenty of resources in the other world. He just had to bring back the ones that could be sold here. With that, he'd finally live the life he'd always dreamed of a life of true financial freedom.

After locking the door and windows, Chen Pingsheng disappeared again back to the post-apocalyptic world. He landed right where he left off, standing in the middle of the ruined street.

The pieces of the fat guy's body were still scattered everywhere, now covered in flies. The smell was worse than before rotting meat mixed with dust and heat. Must've been a couple hours since he killed him.

"So... time moves the same," Chen Pingsheng muttered. He didn't sound surprised, he turned and walked off.

There were still parts of the city he hadn't explore, today's goal was simple: find some precious metal, take it back, sell it, make some quick cash. That's it.

Chen Pingsheng checked the nearby buildings, only bothering with the ones that looked expensive. If there was anything worth, it'd be in those but every time he found a safe, it was already open wrecked, looted, completely empty.

He stood in front of one, shaking his head.

"Seriously? Who the hell breaks into safes during the end of the world… for this junk?"

He let out a short laugh, more tired than amused. The damn thing was half hanging off the wall, like someone ripped it open with a crowbar.

After checking one apartment after another, he finally stumbled across a safe tucked in the corner of a dusty closet, covered in spiderwebs untouched.

"Finally, some damn luck. The mighty European Emperor smiles upon this poor soul." He grinned, clapping his hands together like he was performing some sacred ritual.

Without another word, he tore the safe with brute force, prying it open like it was made of cardboard instead of solid metal.

Clang!

The heavy door hit the ground with a dull, metallic thud.

His eyes lit up, inside was a jade bracelet so smooth it looked freshly carved, a diamond necklace that sparkled even in the dusty light, and several gold bars stacked like candy bars. There were watches too Richard Mille, a Rolex, an Omega… and a bunch of others he didn't recognize but looked expensive as hell.

But who cares, he wasn't planning to sell the watches anyway. Without the invoices or papers, it'd be a pain in the ass to sell them.

Who even knew what year or model they were? For all he cared, they could be from a future. He'd just wear them to show off. Flashy watches always did the talking nothing screamed "money" louder than a Richard Mille on your wrist. Sometimes, that alone made people treat you differently.

The gold and jade though? That was a different story. He could sell those things in secondary market! No questions asked, quick cash, easy deals.

He didn't bother taking the safe back. Instead, he went deeper into the residential area, looking for more valuable stuff.

After seeing many rare materials, he couldn't help but get a little greedy.

It wasn't until nightfall that he finally teleported back to his rental. The trip had been worth it fifty gold bars, each 1 kilograms, twenty smaller ones at 100 grams, three smooth jade bracelets, eight jade bean pendants, and twenty luxury watches, not bad for a casual stroll in apocalyptic world.

Back home, he headed straight to the kitchen, make egg noodles, ate, washed up, then collapsed onto his bed.

Technically, with Sukuna's body, he didn't need sleep or food, but old habits.

He wasn't about to stay up all night exploring a zombie-filled wasteland without rest. Especially not when most of those zombies were basically harmless and clueless doing thankless jobs wasn't his style and since getting Sukuna's power, his desire to do anything useful had dropped even more.

For now, he just wanted to take it easy make some "hardworking" money, and figure out why his cursed technique kept getting more refined, and why his cursed energy reserves were constantly growing.

Yeah, you heard that right. His cursed energy and technique were improving on their own. And not just that even his physique was getting stronger.

If this kept up, it wouldn't be long before his cursed energy doubled. His technique would evolve, become more versatile maybe even take on forms he couldn't imagine yet.

He had no idea how strong he'd become, just imagine it Roymen Sukuna's power doubled cursed spirits, even sorcerers... they'd tremble just from standing near him.

And honestly, he was kind of looking forward to that.
