Chapter 10 - The Night and the Next Morning

He gently placed her on the bed. As she took off her clothes and moved close to him, he saw a slight hesitation. David pulled her leg gently and asked, "What's wrong? You were so full of passion a moment ago."

He carefully adjusted Elena's body, putting a pillow under her back to make her more comfortable. Then, slowly, he took off all her clothes. She moved a little, making soft, quick movements, and whispered, "David, please... slow... with small pushes." But he was lost in her quiet, sexy sounds, and his strong feelings grew even more. They grew so much that she began to twist and turn, loudly calling his name.

This intense lovemaking went on all night. Finally, they were both very tired and fell asleep wrapped up together, feeling very close.

When he woke up the next morning from a very deep sleep, the first thing he noticed was that Elena wasn't there. A quick worry hit him. Feeling restless, he threw off the blanket and was about to get out of bed to find her. Just as his feet touched the cool floor, he saw a small, folded paper on the table next to the bed. It was a letter.

He picked it up, his fingers shaking a little, and opened it. Her words, in her familiar handwriting, hit him hard: "Now you've got what you wanted. What do I need to do here anymore?" He immediately understood: she had found and read his diary. But even knowing this, her sudden leaving made him even angrier than he expected.

Right away, he sent his assistant to find Elena and bring her back. He also told the assistant to gently remind her about their contract. But even as he did this, a new idea started to form in his mind. He imagined them meeting again, starting a new chapter, a different kind of journey. She had changed him so much in such a short time. He had gotten used to her being around. His first "dark desire" for her had become more than just wanting her body; it had turned into something deeper, a strong need. Maybe, he thought, this strong feeling, this huge need, was what people called love.

He felt a deep need for her to be in his life, a need much stronger than just for their physical time together. He needed her, her true self, her very presence, much more than her body. He even thought that if she told him, "From today, never touch me again," he would agree, just to have her back. He had planned to tell her all these complicated feelings when she arrived.

But before he could fully think these things, his phone rang loudly, breaking the quiet. He answered it, and as the voice on the other end spoke, the phone slipped from his numb fingers, falling to the floor with a loud noise in the now empty room.
