The phone call delivered devastating news: there had been a car accident. The person on the other end reported that David's assistant had died, and the other girl, Elena, was at Alex Hospital. David rushed there immediately.
The doctors informed him, "We're trying our best to save her, but her condition is critical. She has a severe head injury." Elena's father, seeing David so distressed, came over and hugged him, starting to cry. He then tried to comfort David.
Finally, Elena regained consciousness and, after a few days, recovered enough to be discharged. David hadn't approached her yet, only watching her from a distance, thinking she might not want to see him. Then, while still in the hospital, she asked her father about him. Her father told her, "He's been here for four days, watching you from afar, asking about your health." He also mentioned the contract and assured her, "Whatever you want will happen." Elena's father added, "But trust me, you won't find anyone else who cares this much."
Tears welled up in Elena's eyes. She asked her father to leave, wanting to talk to David alone. When they were alone, she confessed, "David, when I had the accident, I was thinking, 'Will I never be able to meet you again?' That thought alone scared me, not death." Hearing this, David, filled with remorse, said, "I'm sorry for everything," and hugged her tightly. He then gently lifted her into his arms and carried her home.
Exactly one year later, on the same date and at the same time, 10:10, they welcomed their twin babies, a girl and a boy, at the hospital.
And so, David and Elena lived happily ever after.
