< Minor Flashback >
Kael stood before the body of the man he had known as a father all his life. A knife was planted in his chest, and he lay covered in a pool of his own blood.
With a deep breath, Kael took on the scene, as the weight of his action dawned on him. The blood blood-stained sword fell from his hand, and he fell to his knee, overwhelmed with guilt.
Kael was only upset when overheard that the king, who was supposed to be his father, wanted him dead and had made arrangements for him to be killed.
He never intended to come and kill his father, but to confront him and ask why he'd plan such a thing against him. Before now, he knew that he was the most feared among his siblings despite being the last child.
No one cared to tell him why they feared him, not even his mother would explain to him, and as he grew older, their fear worsened.
