Chapter 62 - The homecoming chaos

After absorbing the orb of equilibrium Ravihiro returned returns to sky demon sect

Ravihiro's Return

The next morning, Ravihiro awoke in his quarters at the Sky Demon Sect, the sunlight streaming through the windows. His energy had stabilized thanks to the trials of the temple, but the weight of recent events still lingered in his mind.

However, the peaceful silence of his room was short-lived as a loud knock on his door shattered the tranquility.

"Ravihiro!" Rumina's voice rang out. "You've been sleeping for hours. Wake up!"

Ravihiro sighed, pulling himself out of bed. Peace never lasts here.

Rumina's Antics

As Ravihiro opened the door, he was met with Rumina's mischievous grin. "Well, well, the hero of the temple finally decides to show his face," she teased, her hands on her hips.

Ravihiro's expression remained stoic. "What do you want?"

"I thought we'd celebrate your safe return!" Rumina said, stepping into his room uninvited. She glanced around, spotting the clutter of his sparse belongings. "And maybe help you clean up. Honestly, this place looks like a beast's den."

Ravihiro raised an eyebrow. "It's fine the way it is."

Rumina ignored him, already poking through his things. She held up a tattered robe. "You were wearing this? No wonder the temple spirits probably thought you were a ghost!"

Ravihiro sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "If you're done criticizing my wardrobe—"

Before he could finish, Rumina spotted a sketchbook on his table. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity. "What's this?"

"Don't—" Ravihiro began, but it was too late.

Rumina flipped it open, revealing pages filled with intricate drawings of landscapes, beasts, and... her. She froze, staring at the detailed sketches of her face.

"Well, well," she said with a smirk, holding up the book. "I didn't know you were this sentimental."

Ravihiro snatched the book from her hands, his ears turning faintly red. "It's practice. Nothing more."

Rumina grinned. "Practice, huh? Sure, let's go with that."

The Sect in Chaos

As Rumina dragged Ravihiro out of his room, she announced to everyone they passed, "The great Ravihiro has returned!"

Disciples and elders alike turned to look, whispers following them wherever they went.

"Isn't that Rumina dragging him around again?"

"Poor guy. He never catches a break."

"Wait, is that blush on Ravihiro's face?"

Ravihiro ignored the chatter, his stoic demeanor unwavering. But Rumina was in her element, enjoying every second of the attention.

Market Shenanigans

Rumina decided they needed to visit the market to celebrate properly. As they wandered through the stalls, Ravihiro sold off some leftover herbs and beast parts he had collected on his journey.

One seller, an elderly man, examined the goods with a critical eye. "These are top-notch materials. Did you really hunt these yourself?"

"Yes," Ravihiro replied simply.

The seller chuckled. "You don't talk much, do you? Your wife must do all the talking for you!"

Rumina, standing nearby, beamed. "Oh, he listens to me perfectly well, don't you, Ravihiro?"

Ravihiro glanced at her. "No."

The seller laughed heartily, while Rumina pouted. "You're impossible," she muttered, grabbing his arm and pulling him toward another stall.

The Inevitable Teasing

As they walked, they passed a group of sect disciples who couldn't resist joining in on the fun.

"Ravihiro, did you bring back any treasures from the temple?" one of them asked.

"I bet Rumina's the real treasure he found!" another quipped.

Rumina grinned, leaning closer to Ravihiro. "See? Even they agree."

Ravihiro sighed. "Are you all done?"

One of the disciples, emboldened by the crowd, stepped forward. "Ravihiro, when are you going to confess how much you adore her?"

Without missing a beat, Ravihiro replied, "When the sky turns green."

The group burst into laughter, while Rumina crossed her arms. "You're lucky I have patience," she said with mock indignation.

Ending on a High Note

By the time they returned to the sect, the sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the grounds. Rumina was still chatting away about their next "adventure," while Ravihiro carried the supplies they'd bought.

As they reached the entrance to their quarters, Rumina turned to him with a mischievous smile. "You know, for someone so stoic, you really do know how to make life interesting."

Ravihiro raised an eyebrow. "That's your doing, not mine."

She laughed, nudging him lightly. "Maybe. But you don't seem to mind."

As she disappeared into her room, Ravihiro stood there for a moment, looking at the fading light of the day. Chaos seems to follow me everywhere.
