"He is sick. He has a tumor in his brain."
Sebastian watched Gael carefully before asking, "How does that make you feel?"
He was surprised when Gael had called him, and when he sensed the sadness in his voice, he immediately left all he was doing to meet him here.
"Like it was my fault. I knew I shouldn't have gotten close to him, and now my curse has caught up with him."
"You do not have a curse, Gael. What happened to your mother and brother was not your fault. Kai having a tumor in his brain is definitely not your fault, either."
"A baby having such a tumor is not common."
"Doesn't mean it has never been seen. Kai was born premature; his health has been fragile since day one. Gael, how long will you live like this? How long will you blame yourself for things that were out of your control"?
"Kai is the only good thing in my life right now; I can't let anything happen to you."
"Of course you won't; you are his father after all."
