Chapter 14 - Chapter 15 The summer palace

Zeres could still clearly recall how he was almost killed at the Summer Palace. The place was a base for a very dangerous and killer organization. What he experienced in that place wasn't something that he would want his friend to go through. Those people had deadly poisons which they had made by themselves, and he knew it wasn't an easy task to come up with the antidote for the poison. If it were not for Kenny saving him that time, he would already have died from the poison.

Zeres stood before Kenny, his face covered with concern. He needed to make Kenny understand the danger that awaited him at the Summer Palace, if he was planning to go there.

He knew that Kenny was a very hard person when it came to changing his mind about something that he was determined to do. Having faced a near-death experience during his mission there, Zeres knew very well how dangerous that place was.

At this time, Kenny was still seated in his position, with determination in his face, and Zeres could read his mind. "Zeres, I think you know this is all about her, I don't wanna loose her and am willing to take any risk to make sure I get the antidote," Kenny spoke after his silence.

"Kenny, you don't understand," Zeres began, his voice firm yet with a hint of fear. "The Summer Palace is a dangerous place. It's not like anything we have encountered before. Kenny, do you recall how we met? Do you remember the story I told you? It was the summer Palace."

Kenny looked at Zeres. "I recall very well, and I had already guessed that your encounter was to do with that place. I know it won't be easy, Zeres, but I have to face this challenge head-on, like the Kenny you met many years ago. I can't just stand by and let you take care of it, Zeres. I will never forgive myself if she dies, or if something happens to you when I am seated here doing nothing, I will never have the motivation to live. I hope you understand me."

Zeres sighed, realizing that Kenny's stubbornness was not going to be easily dealt with. He had seen that same fire in Kenny's eyes countless times before. Kenny was always willing to go the extra mile, even if it meant putting himself in the enemy's trap. It seemed as if he was determined to go to the battlefield, and for Kenny, there was no going back. There wasn't anything he could do to stop him from going there.

"Kenny, I understand your desire to get the antidote," Zeres replied. "But this time, it's different. The Summer Palace is a place full of danger. It's full of traps and dark magic. I think this is a trap. I have a very strong feeling, Kenny."

Kenny crossed his arms, his brows furrowed. "I hear what you're saying, Zeres, but I can't just sit back and let you handle everything, and at the same time, what if it isn't a trap? How will we know that if we don't risk it? We're a team, and we face these challenges together."

Zeres knew that arguing with Kenny would lead nowhere. He had to find another way to protect himself while still allowing him to be part of the mission. His mind raced, searching for a solution that would keep them both safe.

"I have an idea," Zeres said, a stitch of hope in his eyes. "We could activate our team, Tiger. They could act as a backup for us, providing support and ensuring our safety."

Kenny shook his head, his expression dull. "No, Zeres. It's not time yet to bring in the Tiger team. I am sure shortly we will need the Tiger more than now.. We can handle this on our own."

Kenny wasn't yet ready to activate his team. The team had gone underwater for a while, and the enemies were thinking that all the members of the Tiger had been swept out of existence. Kenny wanted the members to undergo more defensive training before the team could come to face the light again. This was just the beginning of the war, and Kenny knew that the battle would be more intense in the future.

Zeres sighed, realizing that he couldn't force Kenny to change his mind. But he had to ensure their safety, even if it meant going against Kenny's wishes.

"Fine," Zeres replied with resignation. "But promise me this, Kenny. If things get too dangerous, if we get overwhelmed, we will activate Tiger. We will need them by our side."

Kenny hesitated for a moment before finally nodding. "Alright, Zeres. If it comes to that, we will call for backup. But for now, let's focus on how we can navigate the Summer Palace and achieve our mission."

Zeres couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. At least Kenny was willing to consider his suggestion if the situation demanded it. Together, they would face the challenges that awaited them, knowing that the Tiger team would be their lifeline if things took a turn for the worse.

As they continued to discuss their strategy and how to activate the Tiger team when the need arises, Zeres his his thoughts that he knew Kenny would be happy to hear them out. They explored maps and ancient texts, putting together all the information they had about the Summer Palace's layout and potential dangers.

Zeres shared his knowledge of the palace, recounting the encounters with the complex traps that had nearly cost his life. He was once there and, with his good memory, he could still recall how the place looked and where it was located.

"You have to understand, Kenny," Zeres said, his voice low and grave. "The Summer Palace is protected by powerful soldiers. The guards are ruthless and will stop at nothing to ensure its secrets don't go out.

Kenny stood up smiling, he placed one of his hands on Zeres' shoulders," Bro, we have always been strong, where did that spirit go? We are undefeated, we use both our brains, hands and weapons in this, they use their weapons only."
